The last few days have been FULL of celebration. This all started on Saturday night...celebrating my friend Nichole's 23rd birthday. We all went out to The Yard House Restaurant. I love this place. I went to one in LA a few years ago, but forgot just how amazing the food, atmosphere, and drinks are! Then, we went down to Old Roseville and bar hopped. It was such a fun night out. I am definitely going to miss going out with my friends here in California...
My next event was my going away party on Sunday, August 7th. I invited friends and family to come rafting on the American River and then to a dinner at The Tea Cup House, a delicious Chinese restaurant in downtown Sacramento. It was so much fun and such a great way to get everyone I love together for one last party! Here are some photos....
My next going-away event was on Monday night. It is a tradition at work whenever any of the manager's leave, we pull a prank on the aquatic supervisors. So, this year, we decided to be paper-wasters and print off pictures of our phases and plaster them ALL over the office...
Next, on Wednesday, we celebrate another tradition at work -- "Manager Dinner." This year, we went to Chevys on the River. This was such a fun dinner and a great end to this work year. I truly love my co-workers and am so fortunate to be apart of such a fun, smart, and easygoing management team.
Finally, yesterday was my actual last day of work, so that was pretty unproductively wonderful in and of itself. All day, we had a pot-luck so the lifeguards brought in a TON of junk food. Basically all I ate during the day was cupcakes, cookies, popcorn, chicken&waffles, and chips. I had a stomach ache for like 4 hours, but continued to eat all of the junk food because I couldn't resist! Then, I went out with four of my non-management co-workers (two lifeguards and one lead lifeguard). We went to BJs brewery. [Side note: if you go there, you MUST try the spinach stuffed mushrooms...they were delectable!]
So, that has been my last week. It has been fun, tiring, sad, and motivating all at the same time. Now all I can say is...
1 day until road-trip
9 days until orientation
17 days until white-coat ceremony
18 days until med school begins! (crazy!!!)
